Joe quit after falling victim to Stephen, played by Todd Boyce. He had played Jenny Connor’s love interest on the soap – and was the first of Stephen’s victims, before he went on to kill Rufus, a business associate, and Leo’s father too.
Now, Joe will star on Boiling Point opposite and Line of Duty star Stephen Graham. Since leaving the show, Joe has gone on to appear in Netflix series The Sandman based on Neil Gaiman’s novel, in which he played the role of The Choirboy for two episodes.

Having confessed prior to taking part that he “hates running”, Joe went on to explain that he was taking on the gruelling challenge for a cause close to his heart, the mental health charity Mind. “I hate running. It’s just not my jam. So what better way to raise money for MIND than running the London Marathon?” he told fans previously.
“Mental well-being affects every aspect of our life. And I believe that putting our mental health first is key.” He then continued: “The work charities such as MIND do helps people take back control and find their resilience for themselves.
“Asking for help is the biggest step, but ‘EVERYTHING WE WANT IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF FEAR’’… With that in MIND (…get it?), here goes nothing.”
