Coronation Street’s Vicky Myers supported over tribute to ‘biggest champion’ in emotional personal update

The actress, who fans know and love for playing DS Lisa Swain in the ITV soap, has been flooded with support

Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has been flooded with support as she paid tribute to her ‘biggest champion’ in an emotional personal update.

The actress, who fans know and love for playing DS Lisa Swain in the ITV soap, admitted she was ‘still on cloud nine’ after taking home two awards at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards last week.

Vicky made her debut as Lisa in 2021 before the role was made a regular last year. The detective sergeant was first brought in to investigate the shocking hate crime assaults on Nina Lucas and her boyfriend Seb Franklin, which led to the latter’s death.

She was then seen working on a number of other cases, but it was in 2024 when Lauren Bolton went missing, and was presumed dead with Roy Cropper in the frame for her murder, that Lisa started to be integrated into Weatherfield life, which has led to her relationship with Carla Connor

Her soap history aside, Vicky was seen celebrating this week as at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards last Monday night (September 29), where she picked up two gongs – Best Actress and Best Partnership alongside Alison King (Carla Connor).

Speaking to BANG Showbiz on the red carpet, she said: “I’m absolutely thrilled and it’s surreal actually to think that just over four years ago I came in as a guest star on four episodes and then to be stood here now holding best actress award and best partnership award is surreal.”

A week on from her big wins and Vicky has returned to social media with a new message to fans, as she revealed that her awards have ended up with someone very special.

Sharing pictures of herself and her brother, and fellow Man City fan, with her accolades on Instagram, the soap star shared: “I’m still on cloud nine a week later and you’ll no doubt, soon be sick to the back teeth of me banging on about it. But for now…

“My mama DID tell me ‘They’ll be days like this’ as did her Mum. Again, massive thanks to all @insidesoapmagazine for such a fantastic night, for your hard work, and of course, the fabulous goody bags!

“To the glam squad, Sally @sallyrowemua and Sian at @so_coco_rouge, thank you so much for creating the look and for the singalong! As I mentioned in the acceptance speech, albeit brief, thanks to everyone @coronationstreet who has been warm and welcoming and offered support, guidance and understanding, not to mention plenty of laughs along the way -I’m so grateful. “Iain, Kate, Verity, the brilliant writers and directors-Thank you for giving me a chance and for trusting me.

“But, it all started with @gennradc who requested a self tape for a ‘D.S. Swain’ over four years ago. Thank you Gennie, thank you very much indeed!!! Thanks to everyone who voted. I’ve said it before and I stand by it, YOU made this happen.”

Vicky added: “On seeing the awards in person, they brought a huge smile to a certain person’s face that will be etched in my memory for a long time to come. That person is my brother, Francisco Disco, who has never stopped believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself.

“He-Man to my She-Ra, Liono to my Cheetarah, Bugsy to my Tallulah and of course, Danny to my Sandy- He has endless patience and is my biggest champion. Needless to say, he’s absolutely over the moon. A blue moon, obvs. Thank you, so very much.”
