On her reaction when she first found out about the plot, Sydney told us: “I was like… as a ghost? And they were like no, like for real. I was like, okay! Wow! I was sceptical but it’s been in good hands.
“The casting for it has just been so meticulous and they wanted to get it so right. We did so many different screen tests and there were so many levels in finding the right Becky and she is just fabulous.”
Hinting at a twist, she then shared with us: “I think the story is really interesting, it’s juicy. I don’t think it’s going to follow the path people necessarily think it will.” When we asked for a word to describe what was ahead on the show in the coming months, she simply said: “I’m gonna go with twist.”
As we asked Sydney and her co-stars Ryan Mulvey and Cait Fitton if we could expect more twists ahead, they agreed. Cait added: “It’s Corrie, ain’t it,” with Sydney replying: “Can you expect anything less? And we won best soap tonight.”
On what’s ahead for Cait’s character Lauren Bolton after a dramatic couple of years, she teased: “Humour… which is quite a shock.” Meanwhile, Brody Michaelis actor Ryan told us: “Excitement, excitement, excitement.”
