star Channique Sterling-Brown has revealed a detail about her latest scenes that viewers may – or may not – have missed as she seemed to confirm she was suffering from an injury at the time of filming.
The actress has been at the forefront of the soap in recent weeks as Dee-Dee Bailey represents Roy Cropper who has been charged with the murder of Lauren
The beloved cafe owner has been DS Lisa Swain’s main suspect in the disappearance of the teenager which quickly became a murder probe after blood was found in the flat she was sub-letting from Evelyn Plummer. Roy was quickly placed in the frame after he was revealed as the last person to see Lauren alive – and misguidedly deep-cleaned Lauren’s flat after she mysteriously disappeared in a bid to help his friend.

And while Daniel Osbourne has also been questioned, it’s Roy who has been most under suspicion by the police and true crime ghouls online who have been cruelly targeting the street stalwart – including Alice who claimed to be Lauren’s mum Kelly and made her way into Roy’s home and filmed him for social media views.
During Monday’s (April 15) episode of Corrie, Roy was seen in a cell after he was charged with Lauren’s murder. He could be seen writing a letter after he was denied bail, with solicitor Dee-Dee eventually delivering it to Nina. Evelyn was quick to suggest it meant Roy had given up and was accepting his fate.
Once in court, the CPS barrister painted Roy as a murderer with a violent past and lists his crimes, including the assault on Gary Windass and the abduction of Wayne.
Later, Dee-Dee put forward her client’s case and urged the judge to grant Roy bail. However, the judge refused the application and ordered that he be held in custody until his trial and he was seen cuffed and being taken back to his cell in front of his heartbroken family and friends.
Taking to social media after the episode aired, Channique, who joined the ITV soap back in 2022, shared pictures taken on the day – including selfies with Joel Deering and Carla Connor actors Calum Lill and Alison King – as they filmed the court scenes on location when she revealed all about what was going on behind the scenes.
