Amy Cudden has teased whether Coronation Street fans can expect her character Becky Swain to come between Swarla.
Lisa Swain and Carla Connor, known as Swarla by their adoring fans, have faced a tough year but in more recent scenes, they got engaged. After facing so many hiccups the pair were finally on the right path, only for Lisa’s ‘dead’ wife Becky to reappear.
Becky revealed she’d been in hiding ever since her fake death four years earlier. Claiming she was in danger and that her sticking around endangered Lisa and their daughter Betsy Swain, Becky claimed she had no choice but to flee.
As she returned though it was clear she was desperate to get her family back. Lisa’s new love Carla could see right through this though, and while there’s been some drama she and Lisa are very much united.
But does Carla have anything to worry about, and will Becky continue to “battle” for Lisa? Actress Amy certainly thinks so, while she gave her verdict on whether Carla needs to watch out.

The actress confessed that Becky wants to be with her family and is determined to make it happen, but that she might not be much of a threat to Carla. She explained: “If you combine the habit of Lisa loving Becky, because that’s a habit that’s still in her, with Becky being absolutely obsessed and driven to be with her family, it’s like a primal life drive for her, she has to be with them, yeah, it’s a threat, but if you look at the person that’s being threatened – we’re talking about Carla Connor!
“They don’t come tougher. So, what that means is that we get this really, really fun tension between two very determined women fighting over the same love. So, yeah, I think she’s a threat, but that threat is coming at a woman who is extremely resilient and extremely tough.”
It comes as Lisa actress Vicky Myers told The Mirror what was ahead. She spilled: “I think it is safe to say there will be lots of twists and turns as this story progresses, not solely just in the police station, but also in the relationship dynamic and with the whole family.
“There are things that happened that if you throw stones at them, it gets that ripple effect doesn’t it. We will have to wait and see.” Vicky went on: “It is difficult and it would certainly make for interesting conversation.
“From Lisa’s perspective, when somebody is taken away or passes away in horrendous circumstances, there’s the guilt attached to it and the regret attached to it. All of a sudden that person hadn’t been dead and comes back.

“There’s a whole mix of emotions to explore and she’s a mess. Her emotions are all over the shop. She is obviously relieved that Becky is still alive but it’s messing up everything that’s happened. Whatever happens it’s great TV and some fans aren’t very happy about it, but I guess that’s the soap life at the moment.”
