Coronation Street fans think they have spotted a ‘clue’ which has revealed Lisa Swain is actually onto Becky amid her plans to leave for Spain.

The detective sergeant has been in a bit of an emotional whirlwind to say the least following the return of her fomer wife, who she thought had been dead for almost four years.

Lisa was led to believe that Becky had died in the line of duty and she and her daughter, Betsy, were left to grieve until her sudden arrival on Betsy’s 18th birthday last month.

Lisa’s jaw dropped when she found Becky standing in front of her in the living room of her new home, No. 6 Coronation Street, before Lisa’s new fiancée, Carla Connor, arrived home to the emotional scene.

Her arrival couldn’t have come at a worse time, with Lisa looking ahead to her new life with the Underworld factory boss, having bought their first home on the Street before getting engaged in a huge public display of affection.

Carla has since been delicately trying to manage Lisa’s needs with her own, with some snapping at Becky thrown in at times. But with her now away in Ireland, Becky has been stepping up her attempts to emotionally manipulate Lisa and win her round once and for all.

Last week, Corrie fans saw Becky’s first interaction with DI Costello, who was in on her fake death, since her return, with him spelling out to her that she needs to disappear back to Spain again or it will be worse for Betsy, who had just been released from the cells following a wrongful arrest.

Revealing his plan, the detective told Becky: “You need to disappear again, soon. If not DS Swain will have a lot more to worry about than her daughter sitting in a cell for a couple of hours.”

When she refused, Becky told Costello that if he didn’t assist in her plan, she would report him, telling him he must help her persuade Lisa and Betsy to go to Spain with her, with it clear she had no regard for Carla.

Later, she floated the idea of leaving to her daughter, with Becky pointing out to Betsy that she could have a life of lounging around on the beach to which Betsy eventually said: “I think…I want to come with you.”

Thrilled with the teen’s response, Becky replied: “Yeah? You’ve no idea how happy that makes me. We can work on mum together, and if we put our minds to it, maybe we can steal her away too?”

During Wednesday’s (October 22) visit to Weatherfield, an excited Betsy persuades Becky to take her shopping in preparation for their move to Spain.

Finding them at home, surrounded by shopping bags, Lisa demanded to know what was going on, pointing out Betsy had skipped work.

Becky tried to take the blame on her daughter’s behalf, but the teen hit out, claiming she was in a ‘dead end job, in a dead end factory’ and stormed off upstairs.

As she did, Corrie fans spotted Lisa’s reaction and flocked to social media to comment. @XLylah said: “Now what was that smirk about young lady.” @MargheritAxen replied: “She knows?????” @LuvLara commented: “That’s interesting. Makes me think that DS Swain may be on to Becky and Costello.”

@corriecorefour noted: “She heard their conversation too listen for the door clicking, there’s a twist coming. She just didn’t bank on her emotions getting in the way… I’m convinced she’s playing Becky.”
