Coronation Street fans say ‘it’s not too late’ after same Debbie Webster distraction
Coronation Street fans have said ‘it’s not too late’ as they still desperately hope for Debbie Webster to stay on the cobbles as she caused a fresh distraction.

Those who follow the ITV soap know that the character will eventually bow out after she was diagnosed with early-onset dementia earlier this year.
Debbie originally moved to the Street as a fifteen-year-old in 1984, with Sue Devaney, who hails from Ashton-Under-Lyne, the only actress to have ever portrayed the character, first from 1984 to 1985, then in 2019 before a full-time return in 2020.
But those who closely follow the Greater Manchester institution will be aware that Sue will eventually be leaving as in scenes aired in April, viewers saw Debbie growing concerned about her memory loss and booked an appointment at a private clinic, believing her symptoms may be related to the menopause.
After discussing a series of recent incidents, shown as flashback scenes, including a blackout and fall, the doctor advised her that he wants her to have further tests as he was concerned that she is showing symptoms of early-onset vascular dementia.
Corrie is now showing Debbie’s life as it unfolds with the devastating diagnosis. Despite her struggles, the character has been seen moving into her new home with fiancé Ronnie Bailey as they plan their wedding.
During Wednesday’s (October 8) episode of Corrie, fans saw Debbie wanting to celebrating her husband-to-be’s birthday with a family dinner in the Bistro. However, she was unimpressed to see Abi, who recently ended her marriage to Kevin, while having affair with his and Debbie’s half-brother, Carl.
Debbie has been keeping Abi and Carl’s secret after discovering their affair for herself. But her disdain for Abi has been evident, with her warning Kevin: “You can not trust that woman!”
It was then that they noticed Abi and Carl had slipped off together, in a panic because Abi had accidentally text Kevin a message that would confirm her infidelity.
The pair returned to the Bistro and managed to secretly delete the text off of Kevin’s phone. But that wasn’t enough. Just as the birthday cake was coming out, Kevin flew into a rage as he saw the message on Alfie’s tablet. He pushed Nick Tilsely, who dropped the cake to the floor, before launching at Carl.
But in the midst of all the drama, it was Debbie who was distracting fans – thanks to her fabulous wardrobe – and they continued to call for her to stay on the Street.
