Coronation Street fans distracted as ‘mother-in-law from hell’ unveiled and co-star has ‘girl crush’
Coronation Street fans have been distracted by the unveiling of new arrival Maggie Driscoll, who has been teased as being the ‘mother-in-law from hell’ ahead of her debut.
Those who follow the ITV soap were informed that there would be some new faces joining the cast when Catherine Tyldesley makes her grand return as Eva Price.
It was confirmed in August that Catherine Tyldesley would be reprising her role in the ITV soap after seven years away, with her having first taken on the role from 2011 to 2018.
Fans will recall that Eva left Weatherfield when she decided to move to France with her young daughter, Susie Price, following the devastating suicide of her little girl’s father, Aidan Connor.

Several years on and in just a matter of days, Eva will be seen back in Weatherield, now officially the new landlady of the Rovers Return.
It was also revealed that Cath she’d be joined by two exciting new additions to the cast – acclaimed actors Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn – who will play Eva’s partner Ben Driscoll and his interfering mother, Maggie.

The first photo of the new family – which also includes Eva’s daughter Susie and Ben’s two sons – was released this week followed by a trailer, which shows that Eva and Ben waste no time in settling into the pub and welcoming all the regulars with a huge opening party
But the arrival of Ben’s mum Maggie brings some shocking news for Eva. And it’s Maggie who is distracting fans thanks to actress Pauline’s famous previous role.

It comes as Catherine has admitted that she is “a little bit obsessed” with Pauline, telling The Sun: “Pauline is like my girl crush. She’s phenomenal. She is hilariously funny but also the heartbreak side of things — she’s incredible.
“Corrie fans are going to adore her. She is going to be a brand new Corrie icon. I just love watching her.”
